If you are from District Murree and have been waiting for a government job opportunity close to home this is it.

Punjab Police has officially announced recruitment for District Murree (پولیس لائن مری) for multiple positions including Constable, Lady Constable, Dolphin Squad Constable, Driver Constable, and Traffic Assistant. All posts fall under BPS-07 with regular government allowances.

The application window is open right now. Last date to apply is May 5, 2026.

Let’s break down everything you need to know position by position, requirement by requirement so you can apply with full confidence.

Available Positions — What Is Being Offered?

District Murree Punjab Police is hiring for the following five positions:

Constable / Lady Constable — General police duties, patrolling, law enforcement assistance, and public safety at the district level.

Constable Dolphin Squad — An elite rapid-response unit of Punjab Police known for high-visibility patrolling and quick crime response. This position has slightly stricter physical requirements.

Driver Constable — Responsible for driving official police vehicles. Requires a valid driving license plus a minimum two years of post-license driving experience.

Traffic Assistant — Assists in managing traffic flow, challan procedures, and road safety operations within District Murree.

All positions are in BPS-07 (Basic Pay Scale 7) and come with standard government allowances. In 2026, a Punjab Police employee in BPS-07 starts with a basic monthly salary of approximately PKR 46,000 to 47,500, with annual increments set by the Punjab government. Add housing allowance, medical allowance, risk allowance, and other perks — and this is a solid, stable income for a lifetime career.

Eligibility Criteria — Who Can Apply?

This is the section you need to read carefully. Requirements differ slightly by position, so pay close attention.

Age Limit (as of May 5, 2026)

PositionAge Requirement
Constable / Lady Constable18 to 22 years
Dolphin Squad Constable18 to 22 years
Driver Constable21 to 30 years
Traffic Assistant18 to 22 years

Driver Constable has a higher upper age limit because two years of post-license driving experience is required — which realistically means applicants need extra time.

Height Requirements

Constable / Lady Constable / Driver Constable / Traffic Assistant: Male applicants: Minimum 5 feet 7 inches Female applicants: Minimum 5 feet 2 inches

Dolphin Squad Constable: Male applicants: Minimum 5 feet 9 inches Female applicants: Minimum 5 feet 4 inches

The Dolphin Squad standards are stricter — and rightly so. This is an elite unit and the physical bar reflects that.

Chest Measurement (Male Applicants Only)

All positions require a minimum chest measurement of 33 inches (unexpanded) and 34 inches (expanded). This applies to male applicants across all posts.

Domicile / Residency

This is a strict requirement. Applicants must be permanent residents of District Murree with a valid domicile certificate and a National Identity Card (CNIC) confirming their district of residence.

If you have a Rawalpindi or Islamabad domicile, you cannot apply for this Murree posting. District-specific recruitment means exactly that.

Education Requirements — Matric or Inter?

This varies by position, and it matters.

Constable / Lady Constable / Driver Constable: Minimum Secondary School Certificate (SSC / Matric) from a recognized board. Pass in second division.

Dolphin Squad Constable: Minimum Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC / Intermediate / FA/FSc) with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.

Traffic Assistant: Minimum Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) with at least 50% marks.

So if you only have Matric, you qualify for Constable and Driver Constable but NOT for Dolphin Squad or Traffic Assistant. Plan your application accordingly.

Physical Fitness Test — The Running Standard

Every applicant will face a physical fitness test. Here is what the running test requires:

Male applicants must cover 1.6 kilometres in 7 minutes or less. Female applicants must cover 1.6 kilometres in 10 minutes or less.

This sounds simple. But if you haven’t been training, do not underestimate it. Plenty of applicants clear the written test and height check, then fail the run. Start training today.

Vision / Eyesight Standard

This is a requirement many candidates overlook until it is too late.

The eyesight standard for all positions is: 6/9 with or without glasses, and near vision must not be less than N-3.

If you wear glasses, you are still eligible — as long as your corrected vision meets this standard. Get an eye checkup before applying to confirm you qualify.

Driver Constable — Special Requirements

This position has extra criteria beyond the general requirements.

You must hold a valid driving license (LTV — Light Transport Vehicle category at minimum). You must have a minimum two years of driving experience after obtaining the license.

Additionally, candidates for Driver Constable will also face a separate driving test, a medical fitness assessment, and a highway code test during the selection process.

If you have been driving officially for two or more years and hold a valid license, this is your category.

Quota System — Know Your Category

Punjab Police recruitment in Murree follows a structured quota allocation:

Women’s Quota: 15% of Constable positions are reserved for female candidates. Traffic Assistant has a separate 5% women’s quota.

Minority Quota: 5% of seats across all constable positions are reserved for minority candidates.

Ex-Servicemen Quota: 10% of Constable and Driver Constable positions are reserved for former military personnel.

For ex-servicemen, there is a special age calculation: subtract your total military service period from your current age. If the remaining age is 22 or less — and your current age does not exceed 40 — you are eligible. Additionally, you must not have retired more than 2 years before the application date.

Important: Personnel who were dismissed from military service on disciplinary grounds are not eligible to apply.

How to Apply — Step by Step

The process is straightforward, but every detail must be correct.

Step 1: Download the official application form from the Punjab Police website at punjabpolice.gov.pk

Step 2: Fill out the form carefully. Every field matters. A wrong CNIC number or mismatched date of birth will cost you your application.

Step 3: Attach attested photocopies of all required documents. This includes your CNIC, domicile certificate, educational certificates, driving license (for Driver Constable), and any other relevant documents.

Step 4: Attach a bank draft or pay order of Rs. 300 as the application fee.

Step 5: Submit your completed application at the District Police Lines, Murree in person.

Submission Dates: April 20, 2026 to May 5, 2026.

Do not submit online. Do not courier. Physical submission at the Police Lines is required.

Important Rules — Read Before You Apply

These rules come directly from the official advertisement. Ignoring any of them can get your application rejected or your selection cancelled.

No relaxation on any criteria. Height, chest, education, age — none of these have any exceptions. If you are one centimeter short, you are out. The rules are firm.

Government / semi-government employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current department along with their application. Applying without an NOC will make you ineligible.

Affidavit is mandatory. Every applicant must submit a sworn affidavit confirming they have no FIR, criminal case, or legal proceedings pending against them. A false affidavit leads to permanent disqualification from Punjab Police recruitment and potential legal action.

Criminal record check applies at every stage. If a criminal record surfaces at any point — even after selection — the candidate will be disqualified immediately.

Fake documents mean legal action. If your educational certificates, domicile, CNIC, or medical certificate are found to be forged or unverified at any stage, your recruitment will be cancelled and a legal case will be registered against you. This is not a formality — Punjab Police acts on it.

Applying for multiple posts: If you qualify for more than one position, you must choose only one before the interview. A sworn affidavit regarding your final choice must also be submitted before the interview stage.

Police family bonus points: If you are applying on the basis of a police family claim to get additional marks, attach all relevant documents — pension book, retirement order copy, etc. — with your application from the start.

No TA/DA: The department will not pay any travel or accommodation expenses at any stage of the selection process.

Selection Process — What Happens After You Apply?

Here is the full selection journey in order:

Stage 1 — Physical Measurement: Height, chest, and physical appearance check at the District Police Lines, Murree. Only applicants with complete and accepted application forms will be called for this stage.

Stage 2 — Running Test: 1.6 km race within the specified time.

Stage 3 — Written Test: A written examination covering general knowledge and relevant subjects.

Stage 4 — Driving Test: Only for Driver Constable applicants. Includes a practical driving test, medical fitness check, and highway code assessment.

Stage 5 — Interview: Final interview conducted by the selection committee.

Clearing each stage is mandatory to proceed to the next. There are no second chances within a stage.

Why Join Punjab Police District Murree?

Beyond the salary — which, let’s be honest, is the first thing everyone checks — there are genuine reasons why a police job in your own district is worth pursuing.

Job security in government service is real and lifelong. Besides the basic salary, Punjab Police Constables receive medical allowance for themselves and their families, risk allowance for hazardous duties, housing allowance, pension and gratuity after retirement, and annual increments every year.

Career growth is structured. A constable can be promoted through internal assessments and seniority to Head Constable, ASI, SI, and even higher ranks over time.

And for Murree residents specifically — serving in your own district means you know the terrain, the community, and the local dynamics better than anyone. That is a genuine advantage in community policing.
